Certainly the ship’s refurbishment is a triumph and the Promenade Deck’s lounge and bar areas flow particularly well, as a glance at Ambassador Ambition’s deck plan makes clear. Cabin sizes come in at an average of sqm, with cabin types broadly classified as standard, superior, premium or de-luxe. However, while the décor in the lower grade cabins does look a little tired, we were impressed with the space they have (the smallest is 17.7 sqm), as well as the variety of options available to solo cruisers – more on this in our cabins section. Location wise, cabins at the aft of the ship are ideal for quicker access to both the Buckingham Restaurant and the Borough Market. Although saying this, there are three sets of lifts (which have a quirky design, left from its Pacific Dawn days) spread across Ambience, meaning it's pretty easy to manoeuvre your way around. Ambassador's Ambience has six dining options, including a main dining room, the Buckingham Restaurant on Deck 7; and a buffet called Borough Market on Deck 12.
The biggest suites – De Luxe – are at the back of Deck 7 and 8 (36-42sqm). Next come Premium suites, at the back of Decks 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12 (25-36sqm), with Superior Junior Suites on Deck 10 and 12 (19-23sqm), while Junior Suites and Junior Suite Singles are on Deck 10 (21-22sqm). These all have separate showers and bath tubs, fridges and sofas, while the bigger suites have separate lounge areas. All cabins and suites have tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge, hair dryer, safe, UK three pin electrical sockets and USB ports. Also on Deck 11, there are 14 De Luxe Suites with which include a separate sitting area and a dressing area.
In terms of entertainment, Ambience has a number of day and night venues including Aces & Eights bridge and card room and the Ambassador Casino on Deck 6. Other facilities include Kapoor's, an onboard crafting studio, Bronte's library, and the shopping galleria, all of which can be found on Deck 6. There are 11 passenger decks on Ambience packed full of bars, restaurants and entertainment spaces. It is our first time here in Vietnam and we chose Ha Long bay as one of our destination and we made the best choice. Places are so majestic, foods are very good especially the seafood. A hotel & cruise combo – an ideal combination of peaceful heavens above water to experience Northern Vietnam’s must-see landmarks or an all-inclusive cruise dedicated to discover the finest Halong Bay – you might have them all. Most of the lounge bars are on Deck 5 and 6, with the complimentary dining rooms at the back of each deck and entrances to The Palladium theatre at the front, so you can drift from dinner, to a bar and the show all on the same deck.

Alfresco Pizza Grill is a semi-covered area on the pool deck and is open for lunch and again from 3-6pm, which is handy if you’ve been off ship.
